I lived there in 2017 and its not really mobbed up with italian mob but there are two social vlubs. Its mostly eastern european and asian now. Some albanians. There seems to be different crime groups operating there. Vinny tv still hangs out at his club because i saw him there once because i lived two streets over

santos wrote: Mon May 08, 2017 2:27 pm Thanks for the answers, Im starting to realise most of the known Italian communities no longer exist, so this is making me think... Could this have been a move on purpose because there was too much heat in those locations due to their "fame" ? So if the Italians dont live there now where did they all move to for their hotspot?... or are they all densely spread out now ?
They are spread out for the most part. Staten Island has a big Italian-American presence, the North Jersey and Long Island suburbs also.
The Bronx still has some pockets like Throggs Neck, Morris Park and Pelham Bay for instance. Howard Beach in Queens is a neighborhood that still has the biggest mob presence of all the neighborhoods within NY city limits I would think.
Which families are still operating out of howard beach?

Here's a NY Times article from 2007 about the subject. Considering this was a decade ago, the mob influence is even less now I reckon..
