In September 13, 2010, the defendant asked a
cooperating witness who was a long-time associate of the Colombo
family of organized crime (the “CW”) to assist him in collecting
an outstanding loansharking debt in North Carolina for the
defendant’s uncle. The CW had a reputation for
violence. On September 14, 2010, the defendant asked a Colombo
family captain for permission to use the CW to assist him in
collecting the debt, and the captain gave his permission.
It said in the article that he was busted on mob takedown day and also for those untaxed cigs. So the CW had to be Nicky Skins, no?

This would be Thomas McLaughlin.

Rocco wrote: Thu Mar 16, 2017 4:09 pm Looks like he was busted in 2005 for growing weed in Manchester NJ. He was living in Toms River which is where Collina has been living since the 80s and about 60-70% of the DeCavs live there and the towns around in it. Is Collina just listed as a soldier right? Not a Capo? Whos Crew is Collina in ? Was he a capo back in 2005? Whatever the case this Balzano seems close to him or in the same crew. Balzano is from Carrol Gardens area of Brooklyn. Allot of the Decav members based out of NY have been from the Red Hook Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn as well. If he is close to guys in Toms RIvers and most of the guys from the Decavs that live in the Toms River area are members that are originally from Elizabeth.

Article from 2005 bust

3 charged MANCHESTER: Three men were arrested in the Pasadena development and charged with cultivating and harvesting more than 200 marijuana plants in a secluded area of town, police said. Police said Jerry Balzano, 42, of Toms River; Daniel Sierra, 23, of Lakewood; and Anthony Pozzolano, 27, of Brooklyn, were arrested Saturday without incident. The area had been under police surveillance. After the arrests, police executed three search warrants two in Dover Town- ; ship, and one in Manchester which produced large quantities of marijuana, cocaine and guns, police said. Balzano and Pozzolano were charged with possession of a dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance and with intention to distribute it, police said. Sierra was charged with possession of a dangerous substance, police said. All three men were being held at the Ocean County Jail.
Balzano He was at one time living in narrowsburg Ny, any idea of who ran that area if anyone? it doesnt sound lik e Collina was a A capo in 2011 at least according to the feds.

I wouldn't want to name anyone, just in case they're legitimate, but his friend's list has countless labor leaders, real estate agents, a couple likely relatives of wiseguys, high-ranking port terminal officials, and even a few NYPD officers. People with the kind of professions you'd expect a goodfella to wanna know.

One name that stood out from his list a counterfeiting / fraud investigator by the name of Joseph Guagliardo. I can only imagine why they're friends, given Balzano's history in the counterfeiting department. Guagliardo's Linkedin page even mentions putting members of international gangs behind bars "for decades"
