Oh, okay. And yeah, I know that in reality only NY mattered as far as votes go, at that point. when I say what warranted Georgia having a vote, I really mean like, how on earth did they come to be represented by a NY family anyway. Like whom in Georgia during the 70s, mattered enough to have their interests be valued by the Commission? Hmm...

It was what B. posted. They also had some associates there in the strip clubs. As for the Commission, despite the wording of th report none of these places or smaller families had a vote. Only NY had a vote by this point. The NY families just represented them and their interests on the Commission.

What was the presence? Is it the thing B. mentioned with Junior Gotti & DiLeonardo or something else?

But as B. already mentioned, it's the context, I'm assuming there had to be enough of a presence of Cosa Nostra members that had to be represented, to warrant it's own commission vote. As far as the 70s go, I haven't seen any evidence of this. Would be interesting if there were some extremely low key guys stationed there who had crews and a substantial amount of underlings, to warrant a vote on the commission, although unlikely. Like very unlikely.



Appreciate the find, HK. I love threads like these that lead to a good amount of discussion, especially when a mystery is involved like what the hell made Georgia gets its own representante on the commission. :lol:

Good point. Junior Gotti and DiLeonardo were extorting topless bars in Atlanta as well as Florida.

Mentioning Atlanta in this context, though, seems to imply there was the presence of a Cosa Nostra organization there that needed to be represented but we know there wasn't one.

Castellano representing Philadelphia makes sense, as that relationship goes back at least ~1920.

I have read in a number of places that the Gagliano/Lucchese family represented LA during Dragna's years, though I'm not sure if that included other California cities at any point.

Also the Bonannos shouldn't really be on this list, as they didn't have a Commission seat at this time from what we know.

I don´t know. That info came from Cafaro when he testified in 1988. He said some things that doesn´t make sense.

Alex, Tieri represented two thirds of the country. That means that two thirds of all Cosa Nostra Familys had Tieri as their representative on the Commission. I've been thinking about what it says in the rest of your first post HK, about how there must be at least 8 members in one crew. How can that be right when you had crews like Robert DBs and Robert Amuso that had one or two soldiers?
