I am still trying to ascertain who the politicians were that were indicted for the LIUNA 210 case in 1996. However the main targets were Joe Todaro Sr., Joe Todaro Jr., Leonard Falzone, and Frank Bifulco.

In my personal opinion, this case along with the murder of John Papalia, and the incarceration of Vincent Sicurella were the catalysts that basically destroyed the family. Also when Frank Bifulco got shot trying to extort a crack dealer in 2001 that was the final omen that the family was done.

it's nothing more than fresh street talk that some tend to weave into their own warped reality. rumors of underworld figures involved in various activities equals the mob operating as a cohesive organization in some people's minds and there's just no changing that!

we're looking at probably around a dozen made guys, maybe a few more but the lack of cases pretty much proves most are probably largely inactive. i think its also important to keep in mind that buffalo isn't exactly a modern day boom town, much like other rust belt cities it's pretty dumpy and whitey has been leaving as fast as his noble feet can carry him!

According to the feds Falzone took over as acting boss in 2006 when Todaro stepped down.

The article that talked about the 2006 chart pointed out the same thing - the family was definitely top-heavy. But we don't know how many soldiers were in each crew. Again, like I said, it really doesn't matter because that chart was likely more a representation of the 23 members still living (and their ranks) than how the organization was really functioning by that point.

Besides the internet, I've never seen any official source confirming or indicating that Falzone was ever the boss. It started years ago on a thread involving Jilly Scibetta (Scott Campbell) guessing rightfully that the Todaros were retired and someone replied that "it probably went to Falzone" and within days his name began popping up on Mobfan style charts as boss or acting boss depending on the chart creator.

That's actually true. The 2006 chart had 23 members - a boss, underboss, consigliere, 4 captains, and 16 soldiers. I suspect it simply worked out that way as some guys died off, while others lived on, and there wasn't any real reorganization done because there wasn't much activity by that point.

In the 2006 the fbi listed 14 made men 4 capos a boss, underboss and a consigliere.

Falzone was listed as boss.

I find a chart but there too names and more are in their 80s and for sure are retired and as boss.
I dont know why Buffalo was defunct or nearly defunct.
I think that in NY state should be a good recruitment pool.
