Sally Dogs Lombardi took over the crew from his uncle Tommy Lombardi in late 1980s. It was Tommy Lombardi who was made captain of Funzi Tieris old crew (which had merged with Gyp DeCarlo´s) in the early 1970s. Sally was originally a Bensonhurst/Bath Beach/Gravesend guy but later lived in Staten Island, NY.

Some indications points at DiGiglio was made into this crew (Tommy Lombardi´s crew). He was originally a Brooklyn guy (or had lived in Brooklyn) before moving to NJ. Another NJ based guy was made at the same time a0s DiGiglio but haven´t been able to track down who that guy is. Possibly it´s Pepe laScala or Ninny Bruschi.

HK, who was originaly a brooklyn guy? DiGiglio? Do you have some posible info on how big was that crew, Tommy Lombardi's?

DiGiglio yes. He lived in Brooklyn before moving to NJ. Tommy Lombardi´s crew was pretty huge, I´d say 20 or possibly 25 men strong. (Made guys.) He was close to Funzi Tieri. It´s possible Tieri beefed up Lombardi´s crew after the books were opened in the 1970s and assaigned soldiers from different crews to be under him. If there was a rivelry between Tieri on one side and the 116th Street crew/Greenwich Village crew on the other side (and there are indications there was), having a huge crew under Lombardi could have been a way to help him maintain his position. But in the end, as we know, it didn´t help.

He was a Genovese Capo who was jailed in the early 90s. He died in 2009 while in prison.
