JCB: You may recall that when RC was convicted he then realized that Cleveland was done in Youngstown. Much to his credit, he provided for at least 2 of his trusted employees (a dealer in several of his poker games and the owner of a popular night club on Market St. in the uptown) jobs at the Tropicana. Pat as a dealer and Joe as a host. I can't tell you if either one is still there or if they're still alive.

No it was not within the family. Pittsburgh encroached into Cleveland territory and wanted to control all of Youngstown... Which at the time was a cash cow. After the Danny Greene and big ang flipping the Cleveland fam was in no shape to do much of anything

Yead the Valenti's also tried to take back control by backing Didio since they themselves had been deposed by Russotti, Sammy Gingelo and Rene Piccarreto some years earlier. A ew years later there was another war when another rival faction (the C team) tried to take over some of the rackets.
