A.S. Cole Son & Co. Obituary
Joseph A. "Joey" Miranda, 91, of Monroe Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joey continued to reside there during his early years. After graduating from High School, Joey joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country reaching the rank of Sergeant. He received multiple service medals such as the American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Metal. In 1989, Joey retired from The Brink's Company and shortly after moved with his wife, Prudence to Monroe Township where he spent the rest of his retirement years. Predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Elvira (Terra) Miranda and his brother, Dominick Miranda; he is survived by his wife, Prudence "Prudy" (Guardino) Miranda, his brother, Raymond Miranda, as well as several cousins. Committal services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Miranda's memory to a charity of the donor's choice by visiting In Memory Of at
www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Arrangements are under the direction of the A.S. Cole Son & Co., 22 North Main Street, Cranbury, NJ.
