I ran a search for Steven Seagal, but could only find two posts and neither answered my questions. It's old hat that Seagal was getting shaken down, but I recently read some (non oc related) news about Nasso that raised a few things in my mind. Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable guys can help me out.
I understood him (Nasso) to be a Gambino associate, attached to Sonny Ciccone...? I wasn't sure if this was a thing or a one off, I-know-him-from-the-neighbourhood type thing, though it's clear that Nasso had brought in Ciccone in an effort to reclaim money from Seagal. There are no recent articles that mention any contact, but most still refer to him as an associate.
Also; who did Seagal turn to in an effort to get Nasso/Ciccone off his back? I'm a bit confused with differing accounts. This old American Mafia article claims he asked Danny Provenzano (lolwut?), who in turn approached Sonny Franzese, who is supposed to have requested Ciccone to back off, who in turn either ignored said request, or waited until Franzese was back in prison, and resumed pressure. Pretty fucking convoluted right? The same article also refers to Tony Pro as a Genovese "associate", which I'm hoping is just sloppy writing. Ctrl+F Franzese in the second link.

The other scenario sees Seagal approaching Angelo Prisco, which makes more sense considering Danny Pro fits in there somehow. It was 2002, after all, before Provenzano was all Real Housewives and shit. I am far more inclined to take on the account given by The Smoking Gun (the FBI report especially), and others.
