Danny Strollo passes away at 89.

CAMPBELL – Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at the Wasko Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Michael Swierz for Dante D. “Danny” Strollo, 89, who passed away Tuesday morning.
Danny was born Feb. 19, 1927, in Youngstown, the son of Dominic and Mary Cavallo Strollo.
He was a 1945 graduate of East High School and a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Danny was a self-employed vending machine owner. He was a member of the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Catholic Church.
Danny was very proud of his wine making skills and will always be remembered for the homemade wine he produced each year. He also enjoyed fishing at Lake Erie. Danny relished spending time with his buddies at Campbell Hardware and the Four Seasons Flea Market. He loved watching sports and enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, The Ohio State Buckeyes and tailgating at Youngstown State University games.
His wife, the former Eleanor Walker Strollo, whom he married May 19, 1959, passed away Jan. 12, 1985.
Danny leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Danelle Abbas of Campbell; his five grandchildren, Gina Abbas of Campbell, Dante Abbas of Columbus, Dante Strollo III of Austintown, Shauna (Ryan) Taylor of Columbus and Dana Strollo, also of Columbus; two great-grandsons; his daughter-in-law, Carmen Strollo of Austintown; his brother, Lenny (Antoinette) Strollo of Canfield; his sisters, Jeanie Dundee, Vilma Cramer and Edina Strollo, all of Canfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, Eleanor, he was preceded in death by his son, Dante II; his brother, Dominic Strollo; and his sister, Alvina Palermo.
The Strollo family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
