Here's some additional info I have (the dates are approximate because some may were calculated in 1896 and others in 1898):
Girolamo Asaro was born around 1860 and the son of Mariano Asaro. Elsewhere he said he was the son of Giuseppe (Josephi) Asaro and Anna Sarcona. Note: Sometimes the indictment calls him Giuseppe Asaro instead of Girolamo, and it has a lot of spelling errors.
The man he was convicted of killing, Giuseppe Costa, born around 1864, was the son of Salvatore Costa and Vincenza Garofalo.
Giuseppe Bonano (Bonanno?), born around 1854, son of Giuseppe, was an associate of Asaro.
Martino Buccellato, son of Giovanni, born around 1877.
Giovanni Buccellato, son of Felice, born around 1844.
Salvatore Buccellato, son of Felice, born around 1847.
Interesting sidenote: Girolamo Asaro was defended by Charles E. Le Barbier, who also defended Giuseppe Morello.
One of the people who testified on his behalf was Giuseppe Borruso, born in 1872, who was a city councilman in Castellammare in 1895. He came to America around 1904 and lived at 28 Stanton Street, NYC.
Another Momo Asaro, son of Giuseppe, born in 1851, testified.
All of them testified that he was really Vincenzo Fudera, son of Giuseppe Fudera and Anna Sarcona.
One of the people who loaned him money for bail was Carlo Costantino -- the same guy who allegedly killed Detective Petrosino in Palermo in 1909 (Petrosino, by the way, also testified in this case).
