It did make me think if you are Lorenzo and everyone everywhere is saying you are the boss or in and around that position, why would you stay there? I think same thing with Barney. Not to say the reporting is accurate but it does make sense for them to get out of that position once it gets widely exposed you are there.
I don't think that matters much unless they decide to retire too. Boss or Captain they'll be prosecuted with whichever crimes the Feds can. However i though Lorenzo was supposed to be Consig with Cefalu as Boss?
It matters in terms of giving direction to others, who they are seen meeting with etc, eg if I take Lorenzo who has money, has a restaurant etc, why bother risking being caught when everyone is already saying you’re in power and fbi watching your every move. Personally I would get out of there and let someone who’s power hungry or someone who’s an idiot take the heat. No suggestion to say the reporting that gene gotti is boss is accurate but I would understand if the Sicilians who have been getting all the attention actually are not in power or have changed some of the roles. Similar to Barney, he gets so much noise and attention, it would be almost too obvious for him to be the actual boss if that makes any sense lol
Him being Boss doesn't mean he's meeting with a lot of people though. I'd be very surprised if Barney was meeting with more than 2-3 guys, maybe even just 1.
What i'm saying is changing the positions wouldn't achieve much you'd have to change your actual level of activity. It won't matter what his position is if he gets caught committing a crime. If you're saying that he might no longer be that active then fair enough i thought you were talking about changing their positions without changing their activity.
Whatever Cefalu and Mannino have been doing has been working either way they've not been indicted in a long time.
