I don’t get what you’re trying to explain here OF COURSE everyone in the family knew Vic was the boss.

Yeah absolutely not arguing that but just trying to make people understand that here on the forum everything is black and white and we have lists and documents to refer to but on the street it’s gray a lot especially if you’re not fully in the know (made). You interpret from what you see and what you hear and it could be easy to think or misinterpret as it is in this case that this one guy who is revered on the streets from the Bronx to Brooklyn like he’s Mickey Mantle, carries himself like a boss and gets treated like one probably is the boss. Yet turns out this other guy who hasn’t been seen in Brooklyn for 30 years actually is.
Pennisi’s experience within the family certainly differed compared to that of those within the Bronx faction.Pennisi heard enough about Vic which resulted in our perception of him being cleared up but Pennisi also stated that he never heard one word even being uttered about Tony Ducks. I presume that this would have been had he been in the Bronx Faction. He doesn’t know to much about the Bronx faction but has had some interaction with some of their members.

I think that it’s likely that all within the Lucchese family would know that Vic is the boss. It would have been mentioned in the Bronx I believe.

They weren't completely wrong.

Crea was the most powerful Lucchese member on the street at that time in an operational sense even with Madonna out ranking him.

Even Pennisi said 'we looked at Stevie as our Boss' and he wasn't lying that whole family did.

Rank doesn't always equal power and vice versa.

Crea was one of the top 5 most powerful guys on the street for a time along with Bellomo, Cefalu probably Cali and whoever else.
That’s correct but they completely disregarded Vic and painted a different picture as a result of doing so
At that time, Crea being the official boss certainly did seem feasible, especially when information pertaining to Big John being the Brooklyn capo came to light though when Capeci spoke against it, they should have believed him.
Yep, there's straight up revisionism going on here. It was Bronx vs Brooklym, Crea and DiNapoli hated Amuso's guts they were way too smart and handsome for those goons from Brooklyn they would never take orders from him he's Ercole Dimeo. Then Amuso orders them to go to his wives funeral and they all show up.

Obviously he wasn't running things from prison it's extremely difficult to do so but he was Boss the entire time and Madonna, Crea and DiNapoli were in those positions because Vic put them there, they didn't take over the Family as was portrayed.

Pennisi in fairness did also say that on the street Crea was the guy they looked to and Vic largely had no clue or say what was happening in prison.

Crea developed a cult like following during those times. Pizzaboy kept propagating that theory.
Much of the comments made about Crea being the boss are a reminder that “street talk” is not reliable.
Pizzaboy was the one who developed the cult like following. He legit had little cultish sychophants following him around on GBB, over here he was completely different.

Camo wrote: Tue May 27, 2025 1:18 am And like 80% of the Bosses spent longer time on the street as Boss than both of them. Persico spent a similar amount of time on the street as Boss as Vito Genovese did, Paul Castellano dwarfed both, John Gotti was longer, etc. Definitely crazy that they managed to hold on so long in jail though, particular Amuso since half the Lucchese's weren't actual Family members of his.
I think that’s a testament to how respected Amuso is on the street. No family members in admin positions but he’s still the boss.
Amuso lasted on the street until 1991. Though during the first few years of his incarceration, he was very hands on.Little Joe DeFede became the Acting Boss on 1994 and lasted until his imprisonment in 1998. During that time, he conducted 36 visits to Amuso who was behind bars. Amuso would give him advice and instruction on how to run the family. The FBI actually recorded one of their meetings in the prison visiting room

I’d like to formulate an FOIA request for that tape though I’ve read that you can only request taped conversations if they were used at trial (this one wasn’t)
There's still a limit to how much control and influence you can have. 36 times over 4 years is 9 times a year, not even once a month.

Would be very interesting to hear that i agree.
