Giving Scarpa hits when they knew or suspected he was a rat seems like a long shot to me too. Not saying it's impossible but it seems like a long shot.

DeLeo being used as a lightning rod even if they knew about him testifying against the doctor seems more plausable to me.

Doesn't the fact that Allie also ignored that DeLeo was a rat give it credence to you?

We can't apply our own logic to these guys actions they aren't like us and don't think like us. Carmine was already serving life and Scarpa was a very useful figure for a War. Allie was in jail throughout the War so it didn't affect him either.

I swear i read Allie Boy said to someone he and his father knew or suspected Scarpa was a rat for years when it was revealed he was one, timeline wise that would make sense as Allie was Acting Boss on the street not long after it was revealed Scarpa was an informant.

Hopefully Gohn or someone sees this and confirms or denies what i'm saying. I could be misremembering like i said but i'm almost positive i read that.

ya I tried to give deleo the benefit of the doubt but he went bad on the doctor. I guess since the doctor wasn't convicted he can justify if and other criminal can let it slide its kinda grey area. but he's bat shit crazy and probaly a little insane from all the time I guess even at 82yrs old he is dangerous if he still thinking about getting revenge in any sort of way on the people who prosecuted him on the drug case in 2012 or what not. I'm gonna guess the Colombo family puts him on the shelf if they already did not. what's he bringing to the fold except embarrassment at this point

Cant recall as laughable a 'plot'.

My guess is either certifiable or he wants three hots and a cot paid for by the G at age 82 broke and little family.

Former Colombo mob boss Ralph DeLeo was attempting to locate and kill three members of federal law enforcement who he blamed for his 2009 racketeering bust and subsequent incarceration, per news reports and court records out of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. WPRI in Providence broke the news on Wednesday. His hit list included FBI agents and prosecutors. When the feds searched his Massachusetts residence, they found materials with intended targets’ personal information in them.

DeLeo, 82, lives in Boston, but led the Colombo crime family in New York City street boss in 2008 and 2009 commuting back and forth from Beantown and the Big Apple. He was arrested and taken into custody on a violation of his supervised-release restrictions last week, having been free for less than two years following his release to a Massachusetts halfway house in October 2023. Federal prosecutors are also accusing him of meeting with his co-defendants from his ’09 case and say he told a confidential informant that he had received “tools” for his foiled murder plots — interpreted as meaning weapons — from another unnamed LCN figure.

I think we're 90% in agreement. I still think the Persico's believing Scarpa was a rat and allowing him to still operate is relevant though and shows a pattern of that behaviour which hasn't resulted in the family being wrestled from them, the key question there would be is "Wrestled by who?" half of the Family are Persico's.

If i have recalled that correctly of course.

I hear what you're saying but I'm not sure it's contextualised like that. I don't think they have degrees of rat. It's a did or did not equation, from my understanding.

I do hope we get an FBI report at some stage about Allie's standing. I think it's somewhat integral to our understanding of the hierarchy.
