That's the Senate testimony of Joe Salerno, he's talking about the Falcone murder trial. There are some little bits of footage that appear in mob documentaries, such as the moment when Scarfo and the others are acquitted (and I've seen another clip somewhere in which Joe Salerno can be heard describing photos as "gory" while testifying) so it seemed to have been filmed, but I've never known the whole thing to be available everywhere. Since clips from it show up in documentaries and TV shows that were made much later, I'm assuming that TV channel has it in their archives.

Leonetti has said that the trial was live on the television
I guess it was then, was purely going off what you said in your OP. No idea about the footage. Maybe contact whoever aired it?
Probably worth contacting the local Philly tv channels
Probably not but just to make sure. I just googled Nicky Scarfo Televised Trial and found footage of him testifying in front of a Senate Subcommittee in 1982. Is there any chance that's what Leonetti was talking about?

Thanks for searching but that video is not what I am referring to.It was the Vincent Falcone trial with Joe Salerno as the star witness.

Leonetti said this about it ““Now this trial was live on TV every day. We had the highest ratings in the area. At the time, there was a show on TV called Shogun, which was the No. 1 show, and we beat them in the ratings.”

Maybe ask Scott Burnstein who is a member here? He wrote a book with Leonetti i'm sure he could at least give you info on which channels it was televised on.

I don't think that necessarily means it was televised. It only says they covered it which could mean had news segments about it as the newspaper mention suggests too.

Where is the footage of Nicky Scarfo’s televised trial?

by Little_Al1991 » Sat Apr 19, 2025 6:57 am

According to Bobby Simone who was Lawrence Merlino’s lawyer for the trial “ Every television station in the area covered the three-week trial, and several newspapers had reporters there
every day.”

It took place in Mays Landing Courthouse, Atlantic City during September of 1980
It was a state trial

How can we acquire this footage? Has anybody attempted to retrieve it?
