Reputed Gambino mobster Gennaro (Jerry) Bruno gets 21 years in prison for hit on urinating drug dealer

A reputed Gambino mobster was sentenced Friday to 21 years in prison for murdering a drug dealer while the victim was urinating on the side of a road in Queens.

Gennaro (Jerry) Bruno, 43, pleaded guilty last month to fatally shooting Martin Bosshart on Jan. 2, 2002 after stopping their car in a deserted area of Howard Beach. The motive for the hit was a dispute over marijuana.

Bruno "personally shot Bosshart execution style at close range with one bullet to the back of Bosshart's head, which penetrated his skull and perforated his brain," Assistant Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Kristin Mace stated in court papers.

Was on record with JoJo Corozzo when released after 3 years in prison from 97 to 2000, then Ronnie Trucchio when the crew was passed to him.

What past cases or affiliations gives Bruno his associate status? Not doubting it, I'm just not very knowledgeable about current affairs of the mafia and I know how quick they are to label someone an associate these days.

Gambino Crime Family Associate Gennaro Bruno Pleads Guilty To 2002 Murder Of Martin Bosshart

Bruno Pleads Guilty to Racketeering and Admits to Murdering Bosshart and Conspiring to Obstruct Justice

Earlier today, Gennaro “Jerry” Bruno, an associate of the Gambino organized crime family of La Cosa Nostra (the “Gambino crime family”) pleaded guilty at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, NY, to racketeering and admitted to murdering Martin Bosshart on January 2, 2002 and conspiring to prevent testimony in a grand jury investigation into the Bosshart murder. Today’s plea took place before United States District Judge William F. Kuntz, II, who accepted Bruno’s plea. Pursuant to Bruno’s plea agreement with the government, Bruno will be sentenced to 21 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for May 6, 2016.
