The Frank Jr thing does surprise me sometimes that he caught virtually no repercussions from the outfit. Doing gangster tours and stuff. His family going down who really cares, but Lombardo and Marcello ended up in fucking Supermax for gods sake.
Chicago has always been a "what have you done for me lately" type of family. It's been strongly hinted that Lombardo was on the shelf when he was indicted and Marcello's powerbase had severely eroded by the time of his conviction. Sarno (and by extension, a lot of his guys) was probably happy to see him go away, especially after he (allegedly) had Marcello's top guy disappeared. All that said, it does appear that Frank Jr. isn't just someone who can walk into any place in the city and be treated like one of the guys, either.
The "mob" is what have you done for me lately everywhere. Even if your running book for someone. You can be a on
point with money every week for years. That one day your bag is short. Well... you gotta make it right, immediately. I feel like these who are involved should know that, going on. If they don't know that, they are either naive or ignorant. Either way its still their fault. Telling on your friends because of that is not the solution.
Frank JR, clearly had a drug problem. Playing it off like he wanted to piss dirty to get less time is just a false narrative he likes to spin to save face. Kurt sounds like he is scared of his own shadow. And Kurt knowing all the shit that Frank JR was doing, like "getting the whole neighborhood doing coke," why does he hid a duffle bag of money in the house and the only person he tells is Frank JR? None of it adds up.
The more they talk the less believable it is imo
