In my opinion, when we learn which organized-crime group or which member of organized crime might have been responsible for hiring

1. alleged MS-13 members to kill someone in a sleepy village located about a 30 min. drive from Toronto's northwest boundary

2. one of these alleged MS-13 members to allegedly kill Francesco Del Balso in Laval, Quebec

3. up to four (4) men from Ontario to kill Moreno Gallo's daughter-in-law in Montreal, a woman who has ancestry from the Rizzutos' hometown in Sicily

When we learn why Davide Barberio of Quebec has criminal matters in Ontario that are being heard in the same Newmarket courthouse where the matters for the alleged MS-13 members are being heard, we might also have an idea whether and how the Italian underworld in one or both provinces is involved.
The trial for some of the seven individuals accused of involvement in the mistaken-idenity drive-by shooting in the Greater Toronto Area will commence in about 12 months' time. The timeline for the trial scheduling has to do with the Jordan decision deadline.

One of the seven accused, Carlos Pena Torrez, continues to make court appearances in Laval for his mistaken-idenity drive-by shooting there, where the alleged real target was Francesco Del Balso.
A hat tip to OcSleeper for letting me know about the sentencing of Carlos Pena Torrez this past Monday. Here's a link to the Toronto Star's PressReader version of the article:

https://www.pressreader.com/article/281479282173516

The authorities in Quebec wasted no time -- Pena Torrez has his two criminal matters being heard today in the Laval Courthouse in Quebec.

One of my followers theorized in a DM that the deceased and the person charged might’ve been working together, based on their age.

Actually, both men have the exact same age and city of residence, and are possibly from the same ethnoracial group.

So a bungled arson could explain their cooperation and the charge of murder in the second degree.

Only Joyce Li of the Toronto Star has reported on it.

The restaurant opened last October 23. Its previous incarnation was La Bella Italia in Maple, which closed last June 30.

I won’t share details yet of what I’ve been told and what I’ve learned, but most of them are easy to obtain by googling the restaurant names, the chefs’ names, and the newer restaurant’s address in Nobleton.

I have corporate information for the newer restaurant but I won’t share the information.

Like others who are closely following this incident, I do suspect that Italian organized crime is involved in this tragedy.
My Spidey senses are off.

From https://www.yrp.ca/en/Modules/News/inde ... 1c8194fbb1: "On February 25, 2025, the Office of the Chief Coroner positively identified the deceased as Bassam MHAIDAT, 22, of the City of Mississauga."

I'm still curious about motive, who might have hired whom, and the reason for employing arson.

Fucking paywall articles, imagine if the mob did it they'd call it a racket and arrest everyone.

Yes they have reported on it, but usually murder reports are also shown on the Toronto evening news they even if it happens in Vaughan/Mississauga ect but they never mentioned this, only online like something minuscule. When I drove by all sorts of police investigation trailers were there, but no news crews.

Several outlets have reported on it

Unlikely someone 'just happened' to be in the restaurant at 3am (IE accidental death)
Either there for a meet and clipped or clipped somewhere and dumped there. The fire started to destroy evidence.
Be interesting to see cause of death.

Its probably not reported on because of wayyyyycism.

My wife did Jury duty in Toronto a few years back, a double murder and assault, drug deal gone 'wrong' (he was in the bathroom and 'thought' he was being set up so he came out shooting). He was black. It was never in any news source I could locate. You tell me why.

Yep, and before the current new management it was another Italian restaurant called sasso. Always gunfire and bs erupting in nobleton it’s like the Montreal of the gta. A lot of gangster and drug dealers buy/rent expensive homes there and bums from other places come up to rob and cause trouble.

Murder and arson at a new Italian restaurant near Vaughan. Place just opened, some Arab punk got caught but I’m guessing the victim is Italian, someone probably hired him. Will find out more info

I've previously posted connection maps for the Tripi and Serio/Masecchia drug trafficking organizations that LE has alleged are connected to Italian Organized Crime in Buffalo. Here is a connection of of both of them put together.

There’s another article that’s just been published in relation to the Giovanni Costa murdered last year.

Twisted neo-noir tale of murder and the Mob in Bolton

Scarborough man charged in relation to Bolton murder investigation

Can’t pin that on me’: Man sentenced in hit of organized-crime suspect’s father
The Crown wanted 5.5 years for Jordan Andall, who allegedly refused to inform on those responsible for John Costa’s murder. The judge rejected the premise of the argument. Michael Costa has been linked to organized crime for years.
