Boy, his son is something else! Would love to know Solly’s opinion on his antics.

That said, Side Out’s is a great bar. Went there often and stayed in the apartments (also owned by the DeLaunrentis’s) for a short period on a temporary job years ago.

The rather peculiar comments section of this YouTube video is full of people reminiscing about that place. Solly D's son shows up in the comments and someone starts berating him about the LoBue brothers. (The thread he starts near the bottom of the comments section with "Solly is not a member. I am the BOSS.")

Yes father had same name
Gennaro “Jerry” DeLaurentis, Sr. Jerry Sr and his sons Solly and Jerry Jr were the longtime operators of 3D Bowl, a pizzeria/bowling alley in Island Lake (believe that Jerry Jr still owned this joint until recent years).

If anyone is interested, we’ve had past discussion on the older DeLaurentis generation, who were very likely affiliated with their paesan’ “Diamond Joe” Esposito and the Gennas back in the day on Taylor St.

Solly's father was also named Jerry right?

Thanks for keeping track Tony  I think certain guys like the addition of photos of these guys they've never seen previously.
We all love photos. I take it you still don’t have access to the mugshot section?
Solai still thinks I'm the SolarSolano/Fratto/Confederate/MilwaukeePhil/TallGuy and several others wrapped into one. Either I'm breaking the rules and you ban me or follow your own forum rules and let me in. I'd populate that section quite a bit and leave this one alone :ugeek: He said that if I admitted I'm 'SolarSolano' that he would give me 'access back to my old account.' Either that or I paid $200. Fuhgeddaboudit.

Suspect charged with murder after home invasion

Chicago Tribune
August 23, 2010

A Melrose Park man was ordered held on bail today after he and another man were shot by an elderly homeowner as they tried to break into the man’s Ukrainian Village home, officials said.

Frank Obrachta, 45, was charged with first-degree murder and home invasion but remained hospitalized after being shot by the 79-year-old man on the 2100 block of West Huron Avenue, said Andrew Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

Obrachta, of the 1400 block of North 16th Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with felony murder after Franko Martinelli, 32, of the 2200 block of West Erie Street died after being shot by the homeowner, Conklin said.

On Monday, Martinelli and Obrachta allegedly went to the home on Huron and were yelling and pounding on the door to be let in. After the elderly man opened the door, Martinelli wrapped his arm around the man’s neck as Obrachta dosed his eyes with pepper spray while Martinelli began hitting the man in the stomach, Conklin said.

As he was being pummeled, the man reached into a pocket of a coat hanging in the vestibule of the home and pulled out a gun, Conklin said.

After shooting the men one time each, the men fled out of the building, Conklin said. The men tried to flag down motorists and then collapsed on the street, Conklin said.

After police and paramedics arrived, the men were taken to Stroger Hospital where Martinelli was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m. Monday.

The homeowner identified Obrachta as one of the men who attacked him.

Obrachta was convicted in 1992 for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and sentenced to six years in prison; a 1985 conviction for armed robbery and aggravated battery for which he received seven years in prison; and a 1985 burglary conviction out of Lake County where he was sentenced to five years in state prison, Conklin said.
