As Scootch said, the Anastasia murder wasn't Carlo Gambino's plot, but a plot by the Biondo-Riccobono faction. We can be almost certain Gambino backed them and it appears Domenico Arcuri did as well. I would assume a number of the old line Sicilian capidecine supported the plot, whether before it happened or after.
