There's nothing wrong with the way he talks. He's been locked up for many years and is from New York. He has an accent, big deal. And the gum chewing thing was nothing and had no effect either positive or negative on the interview whatsoever. He came off as lucid, genuine, and not a dumb ass.

I was wrong. Not Kevin, but Peter McNeely.

The guy is really sorry.
Are you a Mass guy? Out of all the punch drunk boxers to name you have to be if you're referencing McNeely lol. I've met him several times. He used to jump drunks outside the bar in my neighborhood and rob them. He wearing a McNeely fight jacket around town as recent as 2010. Heard he spent all his money from the fight that night. I think he's sober now and seems to have straightened out his life a bit. Just funny to come across his name on here.
No, I'm not from Massachusetts. But I was into boxing when I was in school and for a while when I was in college. I've seen guys who were very serious about boxing, and their speech was similar to this. It's just that I remember McNeely very much with such a speech defect.

I really want to see the bath ave story from his perspective.Jimmy talked about how great paulie G was i wonder if tommy hated him from the start and was just buying his time until he was going to make his move
That’s what I was trying to say earlier - we really only have one version of the Bath Ave story from Jimmy - hearing about his dad would be cool too

A breath of fresh air with someone who actually did his time, didn't rat anyone out and reformed himself.
A lot more sympathetic than crocodile tears from people who did dirt, told on their friends and escaped with a slap on the wrist. Even though 25 years for 4 murders is kinda cheap..

I agree, he seems sincere.

Never heard jimmy calandra say he was a boxer. The narrative he was a wild kid who liked drugs. Dad was cousin with Tony pro. He seems off. Maybe just the way he's wired. Again chewing gum like a horse on camera while talking. I couldn't watch it. Normally I seen grown men chewing gum there high on coke and think there hiding the type writer jaw effect. The min I watched, he was definitely thinking about what he was gonna say before he did. Which I guess is good. Not to sound like a asshole.

He's been institutionalized his whole life. He talks like a boxer who has been hit in the head too many times. I do not think it's a reflection of who he is, just where he has been the past 30 years.

Seems that he doesn’t want to talk about Jimmy or go down that rabbit hole, good for Tommy and take the high road. Seems like Tommy is genuinely sorry for what he did.

I would be super interested to know Tommy’s thoughts on Paulie G.. Jimmy constantly talks about how Paulie was this great guy and his murder wasn’t justified - yet it clearly was to be expected by Mafia standards.
