Such interesting stuff, Buffalo. These guys were not on my radar previously. It's why I chuckle when people say "they had 28 memebers in 2005, so they are almost gone". I'm not saying any of these guys are made members necessarily, just that the "network" is a lot larger than most people think.

Nice photos.

I’d think that Carmine Jannece is dead by now; if not, he’d be turning 98 this year. I was not able to find any obituary or anything for him, though. What’s funny is that his family had already declared him legally dead back in ‘96 when he was charged for the 1991 Saugatuck heist. Of course, Jannece was living out in the open in the NW burbs under the name “Carmine Senese” for 17 years while being sought by the Feds. If he cooperated at all following his 2008 arrest, I have not seen any evidence of it at least.

That's quite a story living in the open like that. I have to doubt these Italians in Chicago were inspired by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in Point Break however. I do have one question - was The Beak really related to Busy Siegel or is that something Goudie just added? I remember The Beak Siegel testifying during family secrets and was not aware he was related to Bugsy Siegel.

Just to follow up, some rare photos of these guys. Does anyone have information on whether Jannece passed away? My source believes he has but it was rumored he was cooperating with the government. My source also says Pat Mazza (who also goes by Cosmo) was likely affiliated with the Elmwood Park Crew. Apparently, Mazza financed a lot of their gambling and juice operations with his scores.

Any updates on Mazza?

I have nothing on Jannece, but I know Francis Patrick "Cosmo" Mazza was born 11/4/1951 and is/was hooked up with the Elmwood Park crew. I don't know how he's related to Joseph "Joey May" Mazza also of the EP crew, but I think Joey was also born in 1951 so he may be a cousin.
Thanks I've learned the most and just about only information you can get on Pat/Cosmo Mazza from the testimony of Robert 'Bobby the Beak' Siegel who was in that armed bank robbery with these guys in Michigan. Per Siegel, Mazza was 'trying to become an Outfit boss.' Siegel was caught on another charge after this robbery and Mazza was on his visitors list checking-in to see if he would flip on the Michigan heist.

Mags gave that story of Aiuppa in the MCC having the entire cell block clear out when he used the toilet on one of the videos - not necessarily bc of his power either  Per Mags, he ate raw onions and raw garlic outside of prison - and was infamous for terrible breath and talking close, which Mags implied he enjoyed to fuck with people and it was a subtle (disgusting) power move.
Do you remember which video this was?

This…is gross.

Fosco also talked about how he drank a shit ton of coffee. Let’s just pile that on top of the raw onion and garlic breath.

I have spoken to him a couple times many years ago. Antiliar also has. He's always been nice.

Coloboy wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 9:46 am The Fosco ANP stuff is so interesting not so much because of any groundbreaking intel gained, but because you get insight into relationships, personalities, etc. It's unlikely someone so close to the Outfit will talk about stuff like that again. It was evident to me that he always felt like Difronzo should have protected him from the extortion attempts, and he felt so butt hurt by it, hence the crazy vendetta. Lots of stuff to comb through on there. I remembering him talking about how Sarno was still kicking up/sharing profits with No Nose at that time, which was later backed up by an FBI report.
It also emphasized just how wrong the media often has been on things. Fosco was the first one to really make clear that being 'made' in Chicago was quite exclusive and that many of the guys we all would have believed were made - from Mike Mags to Buddy Ciotti - were never actually made but still wielded influence. He also shed light on some of the older rackets that set families like Cerones, Messinos, Amabiles and Daddanos up for generational wealth. There is not another source out there who has shone light on the various car dealership rackets and behind the scenes businesses these guys were taking a piece of.
Wait, when was it determined that Mikey Mags wasn’t made?
I don't think anything has ever come out that he isn't. Maybe NB meant Talarico.
Are there any new rumblings about Magnafichi? I recall rumors a few years ago that he might be active with the crew again and back in good graces. Dude is plugged into that world and I imagine getting a book going wouldn't be that difficult. Maybe PatrickGold has seen him at Capri :)
Nope and I highly doubt he will go anywhere were Outfit guys may be hanging at. I could definitely see some of the guys starting stuff with him for what he did. Here is the last article I saw about him in which he supposedly found god.

https://chicago.suntimes.com/2018/3/8/1 ... ay-prayers
What did he do? Was it just the Fosco stuff or is there more to the story?

I've heard he was a drunk and degenerate gambler. I guess something had to lead to him ending up on the Fosco podcast, if his resume (lol) said he left the Outfit in 2003.
Besides be a drunk and pill head, he got arrested for shop
Lifting and stuff like that. Big embarrassment. Plus he was being groomed to really go to the top and threw it all away. The Fosco stuff was kind of the nail in the coffin for him in regards to having anything to do with the Outfit.

I’m sure he has some FBI 302s to his name
He's a pretty interesting guy. No doubt he was being groomed for something big. His dad was an Elmwood Park capo and a powerhouse. He drove Cerone and tells stories about playing golf with Accardo, so he was no doubt around the heavyweights and I'm sure they had big plans for him.

He went to college for a minute, so he was no dummy either.
In a strange way he reminds me a little of Scars, strong pedigree and rubbing elbows with the big shots in his 20s.

Still very much a thing it seems, e.g. what Gigi was like when he was a kid.
