Bellavia & Scalise on merlinos podcast?
I'm going to leave out some of the anecdotes, which are interesting, but are a pain to take notes on and less important in the greater context of the Outfit. The audio also made it hard to hear at times:
-Bellavia and Scalise have been friends since 12 or 13
-Scalise does most of the talking. Briefly discusses the 42 Gang and how Giancana (allegedly) killed three guys as a kid. Scalise describes himself as "the last of the 42 gang" which is
-Stole hubcaps, tires, and cars as teenagers. Scalise said their mentor was John Varelli (LCN member)
-Bellavia described Varelli as "dangerous" but also liked to play practical jokes
-Bellavia mentions that Solly D was convicted of murder, but not charged with murder. I think he's leaving some things out, because I don't think Solly D was convicted of murder, only conspiracy to murder.
-Bellavia talks about serving in prison with Tony Ducks Corallo. There is a photo of them together and another photo with Ducks, Bellavia, and who looks like Solly D and maybe Rocky Infelise but it's hard to tell. There is another guy (far left) who I can't make out.
Not a ton, but some interesting stuff.
