I wouldn't say pagliarulo and calabrese were nice guys , calabrese was a member of the hit team that tried to murder Patricia capozallo and pagliarulo was one of amuso and cassos chief hitmen

Putting that through my Way of the Webguy grammer translation I believe he is referring to Soldier Jody Calabrese and deceased former Capo Richard "The Toupee" Pagliarulo.

Yes I get what you mean.Paul Varois crew was allways for the most part known, so were his soldiers but it allways bottled me how that the Tick crew wasnt. At the end they had a rat like Casso who could fill who the soldiers were.Remmember somewhere reading Curiale was from South brooklyn/park slope.Dont know if that is true or not?Im gueesing that before 1976,before Casso and vic were made, there had to be atleast 10 members who were with Tick, oldtimers.Just disappointed that we dont have more.

I don't mean outsiders in the sense that they weren't respected or known to other members, only in the sense that they weren't a huge part of the power structure and did their own thing.

Unfortunately there isn't much info out there that I know of about Curiale when he was an active capo. Just that bit about Paul Vario going to see him in a bakery (and Curiale isn't even named) to get approval to propose a new member (who would turn out to be an informant) and D'Arco giving second or third hand info about him. Yet the guy was a captain for decades.

Would be curious to know how the Curiale crew got started with the Gagliano family. The core of the family at that time was based out of East Harlem and from Corleone and Palermo, but here this crew was in Brooklyn and had Agrigento members. D'Arco says something in his book about there originally being one Brooklyn family and this crew was a part of that, but he only had word-of-mouth history and might not remember all of the details he heard correctly anyway. The fact that it was a big deal that Brooklyn members were finally taking over the family in the 1980s tells me that the Brooklyn crew(s) were always seen as outsiders in the family.

I don't know. They probably weren't all confined to that one specific area.
