Who is "66" as identifying source? He knows everything it seems
Did you mean to write a different number here? "NY T-66" in this report denoted DE 968-CTE, a confidential informant with the Detroit office. I have no idea who he actually was, but he gave only a little but of intel to the FBI in the 60s, at least from what I've seen. The FBI used him, however, as a source in this report for a number of Detroit member identifications (though it isn't even clear that DE 968 was himself an LCN member, which is a more general issue for the validity of member identifications listed by the FBI in this period, particularly for the non-NYC Families). He isn't cited for anything else in the linked report, so I'm thinking you meant someone else.
You are right.

Awesome. So he had a relative involved with Pittston who cooperated and added further confirmation that Bartolo was a Colombo member and that Stefano had been an underboss. I assume the redacted name is Mineo but we can at least be more confident that Stefano Ferrigno was an underboss as we already suspected.

Pretty big crowd, the most famous Jewish gangsters ever. I’m guessing “Eliott Muggins” was someone’s alias
Surprising that Benzola knew Lansky and Siegel that early on. It´s possible that he was a member of what the press dubbed "The Bugs and Meyer Mob".

bn wrote: Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:40 pm The post mentions one Andrew 'Benny the Old Man' Benzola as a member of the Harlem crew. This is probably who the "Joe Benzola" phonetic name is referring to. The FBI dead list carries a Andrew Joseph Benzola (1915 - 1984).
There is some cofusion about this guy. He was definitely made but I think the FBI dead list is wrong though as far as DOB is concerned. I tend to believe this is the guy:

Name: Andrew Benzola
State of Issue: New York
Date of Birth: Tuesday January 02, 1894
Date of Death: June 1984
Est. Age at Death: 90 years, 5 months
Last known residence:
City: Yonkers; Centuck
County: Westchester
State: New York

He was a jeweler by occupation and had a record. For example, he was charged with gambling conspiracy in 1962. It looks like he had a brother named Joseph (b ca 1898, a truck driver). Both men had daughters named Theresa and sons named George. In 1930, a Joseph Benzola was arrested following a gun battle in the Bronx. He said he was a jewelry salesman and age matches with Andrew Benzola. It´s possible he gave his brother s name when arrested or used his second name (if Joseph was it). In any case, the Andrew Benzola listed as a member of the Genovese Family was born in 1894.

New biography from LСN Bios. Never heard of him before, half Neapolitan, half Sicilian, a rare example of a possible member from Syracuse.
There were a handful of guys from Syracuse in the Hartford, CT area: DeCav members Joe Guerriero, Frank Carbone & John Grande plus Genovese member Bobby Doyle Santuccio
