It’s not about trying to be an honest man, maybe the money dried up and it’s not worth the headaches like it was 30 years ago. And as far as penalty for walking away, who is enforcing a rule like that in 2024?

He's wouldn't be the first mobster to retire. Not saying he has or hasn't just saying its not unheard of.

Bro, rats are walking the street where they cooperated. He’s not mentioned one active guy that I’m aware of in any way that wasn’t connected to his case.
My opinion is that a non-rat, former (or even worse, current) boss of a family hosting a podcast, could set a precedent that may be seen as risky by active members of Cosa Nostra. Especially in NY.

This behaviour by Merlino could be planting unwanted ideas in someone's mind, someone who is a shelved member perhaps.

Na just was just said it was a few weeks ago on the podcast. I wish i was in a better spot to pick his brain at the time. I want to say it was north jersey mention but NYC ran. Was he is North Jersey doing any videos lately, maybe he was just out front of one. I try to watch most podcast but, I skip around to only mob stuff, so I could miss some

Anyone who really listens to the Merlino podcast, may be able to help. I don't believe its mob related the bombings at the Steak shop. I have friends in different parts of law enforcement. One said recently that on the podcast Joey outted a gambling operation that is still active in North Jersey or NYC, and some LEO's believe it is a message from NY.
