Getting back on track, for anyone interested, there’s a cool Redfin link to Ricca’s old house in the Chicago photos thread in the mugshots section. Pretty cool looking house.

You didn't need to jump in here Newyorkempire. The situation was resolved. If you want to start another argument take it to the graveyard - the rules on that are crystal clear. I'm leaving this here as a warning to everyone.

Let's get this thread back on track.

I’ve said this a few times that for living in one of the most expensive metro areas in the world, a lot of them seem to be doing pretty well. Realistically they have adapted well in modern times from an economic perspective and the fact there are few indictments is indicative of sensible moves they are making and not that they don’t exist. Former members like pennisi have generally said that wealth/prosperity is not the issue, just that the whole brotherhood thing is a load of bullshit which I’m sure it is. So classification of the mob is dead is more about “culture” of the mob than it is their physical existence
I think it's also that for a lot of these guys, the way they grew up around the mob was way different than where it currently is. They grew up as kids with murder & violence in the neighborhood and certain actions having deadly consequences and that's how they think it should be. When that is no longer around it doesn't feel like the life anymore, even if they're making money and living in big houses.
For sure, and when all the violence was picking up in the 70s and 80s the guys from the 50s and before said the life was now dead lol

It's funny how people were making fun of how Diego Tantillo and Vito Rappa etc were dressed in their arrest photos, but look at their homes. They should think about that the next time they open their mouth.

Can't believe I've actually had people I know who thought they could compare the Bloods and Crips to these guys lol. I reposted because it looks like you can't edit.
