No , people here in Eastern Europe don't even know what fentanyl is. Even the people that are "in the game" here , don't know what fentanyl is.
Also the crime here is very different, if you are powerful in organized crime it means you are working for the state , literally there are pictures of presidents son with top criminals here and you must provide quality stuff. 7 years ago we had some ecstasy pills from China that caused 2 kids to overdose , it was total chaos and it was stopped in matter of days. My country have 7 million people and in the last 15 years we only had 835 overdose deaths.
On the fentanyl, I believe this. Micalizzi importing heroin from Thailand backs this up.

I'm often confused by the constant references to Sicilians being close to politicians, as if its particularly special.I feel like thats true of Russians in Russia, Albanians in Albania, Mexicans in Mexico, Nigerians in Nigeria, Serbs in Serbia, Colombians in Colombia, Calabrians in Calabria. It's really was only unique in the States, and that was mostly prohibition.
Corrupting local municipalities is a powerful criminal base, but this never takes an organization to intercontinental/global type of power....
