+1 it's a very French Canadian name, or eventually from Louisiania.
Never heard of him but maybe one of his parents is Italian ? I'm not sure if having his 2 parents of Italian ascent is still a strict rules for the nowadays, but to be honest I really don't know.
That said, I once read that Scott Burstein turned Montreal gangster Gaëtan Gosselin into Gaetano Gosselino, so maybe he just misspelled the name?
