so i know the old rule. deal drugs you die was set in place in order to insulate bosses from members flipping facing enormous amounts of time and pressure. we all know they took the $$ and looked the other way. reality is guys in the street were never going to turn away from making money with drugs. so do you think the threat of death actually persuaded guys to flip when caught. i mean guys could take their chances in the street and die or flip. it almost had the reverse affect.
if i guy could fight his case on bail and not have to look over his shoulder than maybe he keeps quiet.
i know this is all hypotheticals and just a theory but i find it interesting to think the rule mightve persuaded someone to flip.
doesnt matter in modern times but 80's and 90's maybe the fear of actually being killed led guys to run to witsec.
