He’s a really interesting guy because he was all over the place.
He was born Jul 21 1917 in Brooklyn, NY to Ferdinand “Fred” Iacovetti and Emily Ilvento. In 1930, his family lived at 9714 95th St, Queens, NY. In 1935, they were back in Brooklyn, but by 1937, they had moved to Altoona, PA (2022 Pleasant Valley Ave).
By 1941, he was married and living at 2026 Pleasant Valley Blvd. In 1943, he divorced and was remarried to Anna Altieri, from Altoona, PA, in Winchester, VA. He was living at 2326 7th Ave, Altoona, PA.
In 1950, he was arrested with a Louis Maria (966 27th St, Altoona, PA) for kidnapping and extorting a gambler, 45 year old Charles Fissel of Newry, PA. Iacovetti was living at 311 Wordsworth Ave, Altoona, PA.
In 1952, he was arrested for running a still in Glen Burnie, MD, just outside Baltimore. He was with Charles Covello, brother of Joseph “Demus” Covello, Gambino member. Iacovetti was living in Norwalk, CT and was a part of Frank Scalice’s crew.
By 1963, he was in Arthur Leo’s crew along with other CT Gambino figures. By the end of the 60s, he was living part of the year in Dania, FL and operated Roberto’s Italian Restaurant. He was also involved in crime in North Bay Village, FL.
He got pinched on a stolen securities case with Vinne Teresa.
In 1983, his address was identified as 189 Plattsville Rd, Trumbull, CT.
He passed in 1998. He was supposed to be really rich and was friends with Frank Sinatra.
It appears that most of the Gambino CT membership was under Domenico Arcuri by the early-mid 1960s. Iacovetti served under captain Alfred Eppolito.
Leo did have a huge of crew of about 30 guys. Notable names included Frank 'Frankie Moose' Moccardi, Francesco Rizzo, Anthony 'Tony Baker' Napolitano, Vincent Casablanca, Ralph 'Bones' Mosca, Alfonso Mosca, etc.
