I don't think I will bother to look for anything anymore. Just wait for you to put it here nicely. Really good work.
Do you know if Alongi's parents from Corleone as well? Gagliano's as we know are and that's before the connection of Majuri's to Gagliano's which B. has mentioned on here a while ago.
Thanks!
I don´t know his father´s name and time of arrival to America. That would definitely help in order to find out where exactly the Alongis came from. If somebody knows (at least his name), we could take a look on the libertyellisfoundation.org site.
Name: Dominick Joseph Alongi
[Dominick Alongi]
SSN: 113205279
Gender: Male
Race: White
Birth Date: 17 Apr 1926
Birth Place: N Y, New York
Father Name: Joseph Alongi
Mother Name: Rose Philipaso
Death Date: Mar 1980
Type of Claim: Original SSN.
Notes: Nov 1943: Name listed as DOMINICK JOSEPH ALONGI; 31 Dec 1987: Name listed as DOMINICK ALONGI
Another source gives his father's name as "Salud Alongi" and his mother and Antoinette.
A bunch of Giuseppe Alongis found. So it need to be narrowed down even further. This entry seems to be best match (if the father was from the Palermo province and around the town of Corleone, and if the father entered US via New York, and was born in Italy, and entered sometime prior to the 1920s):
Giuseppe Alongi, 27 years old, arrived in 1902 from Cefala Diana (village located between the city of Palermo and Corleone). Married. He stated that he was heading to relatives in New Orleans.
Can´t find any entry on a Philipaso, or Filipaso, or Fillipaso, or Fillipasso etc.
