In New York I don't think there was anyone else who cooperated for 30 years like that or anywhere close.

Closest I can think of elsewhere is Frank Bompensiero who cooperated for 10 years (his murder stopped it) and Maniaci who cooperated from the early 1960s until his own death in 1975. Tony Lima of SF began cooperating in the 1960s and continued through the 1970s but not sure exactly how long.

That was all smoke and mirrors with the AMW show showing a bust by Frank Bender on what the brother of Carmine would look like. It completely took the heat off Scarpa by doing the show that way!
Scarpa's info definitely wasn't some penny ante shit...he gave up some very valuable stuff...probably woulda gave up Carmine's location too if he knew it or if Freddy DeChristopher didn't beat him to the punch...idk if I can remember a more influential long term CI other than Scarpa, maybe Willie Boy Johnson...the other guys who did major damage flipped after the fact...this guy actively gave up pertinent information while engaging in every day Mafia life...I'll give him this...guy must of had balls the size of grapefruits...

Wonder how Delvecchio's informant knew so quickly? That's me assuming it came from the Colombo family and Scarpa Sr...He did say on the documentary he had a Lucchese informant though...Maybe it came from them and they were close to the admin...all assumptions, just kind of got a train of thought in motion...thanks Pogo

There’s an entire discussion laying out the evidence against DeCicco. It makes a lot of sense, look it up. You’ll enjoy the read.
Where can this discussion be found?

It’s on the forum. It’s called Frank DeCicco CI or something similar.

Who besides Gerry Langella attended this meeting for the Colombos? Was Allie Boy Jr acting consigliere at the time? Pretty sure the surveillance picture of him with the shades on is from this meeting...just wondering his position at this point in time...I'm thinking an acting consigliere role with his uncle being in the wind at the time...

They absolutely 100% would know the reason for the meeting and main topics to be discussed.
Which would make it very easy for the Genovese to conceal the true power of the family... That being said though, Salerno was no patsy... Other families from throughout the country sought his counsel and he had great respect throughout the Mafia...

His connection was Sclafani, his cousin. That's what I mean about Sclafani having a history of supplying good intel.
