My bad, yes, 1959  However I'm sure Pittsburgh was called in to resolve their issues when Batista came to power.
Thanx for the heads up :)

It is the only Havan casino that no longer exists. It was located outside of the city center. Norman Rothman, among others, worked there.
Have you considered that this deal was made shortly after Castro came into power-1953? Did you further consider that the deal was based on Santo Trafficante Jr. would have Castro's OK to operate? That being said: I'll bet Pittsburgh sent Henry to pay-off Castro and he also took the casino money!
You mean Batista? Castro wasn't in power until 1959.

IDino was a sharp dresser, as was my Dad :) Did Dino's Daughter know what Dino did for a living including arming insurgents to deal with Castro :?:

The Hotel/Casino in question was The San Souci. Sam made a deal with Batista. However when Castro became Dictator he wanted his "end" or he would shut them down. Henry was dispatched with suitcase full of Dead Presidents. Half for Castro and half for the Casino. Castro grabbed Henry and the cash
Castro let Sam know he want all the cash and Henry would stay in the can unless he got cash. Henry was a valuable Soldier so they gave up the cash.

After Henry got home, I believe the Pittsburgh group dispatched Dino Chalini to make him see the way ;)
I met Dino Cellini's daughter at a talk I gave at the Mob Museum on the mob in Havana. She recalled traveling a lot and that her father was a sharp dresser (she was older, so I didnt press on more details). she was extremely nice.
