And I forgot to mention the Exam Scam, where they had the answers to all the Sgt/detective/captain exams that they would sell and that Jerry got another like 15 years for that he sometime pulled a bribe off and got concurrent with his 30 year sentence that he ended up doing like 7-9 years on and off parole by 1995.

I have watched this great movie but I think that the mobster character was based on Jerry Angiulo.

Even though the guy who played Ferrara wasn't like him at all, I thought he was a good pick to represent the mob. Serious businessman instead of a corny Godfather.
I miss the old made for TV movies...more often than not they were damn good movies...glad you watched the movie and liked it...

Only thing the movie gets wrong is the Boston LCN crew members (Vinny Ferrara for example) he deals with in the movie are like 80 years old when in example he was like 34 years old at the time. At the time too nobody knew Bucky got whacked so they all thought he just ripped them off. Ray Sharkey counting down the days until
The statute of limitations is gold too. I think he makes it to like 4 years and Seven months out of 5 years at the time federal limit. The real story is even more ridiculous. Serial burglary ring by cops. They stole shit like appliances religiously and I believe one of the cops stole enough washer and
Dryers that he started his own laundromat to launder burglary proceeds.
For more reading look into how Gerry manipulated the parole board and was out of prison by 1994. He even managed to keep his pension somehow. He died in 2017, and his Son Gerry Jr was last I knew also a Medford police LT(Gerry was captain in charge of dispatch/communications) I think maliciously ripping off the overtime system.

Gerry Clemente is the man. Straight up Medford’s Depositer Trust Heist is Legendary. What was was and will never be again.
Ray Sharkey was a great actor, shame what happened to him...I thought they said Ferrera too but the age difference threw me off...

I recently watched an old movie with Ed Asner and Ray Sharkey called "The Cops Are Robbers" (also known as "Good Cop, Bad Cop") about the 1980 Depositor's Trust Bank Heist...it was masterminded by dirty Medford, Mass cop Gerald Clemente...anyway in the movie it made reference to Clemente paying tribute to the Mafia there...wonder who that could have been? Also, the alarm man from that heist Bucky Barrett was killed by Whitey Bulger for not sharing proceeds from that job...just curious, really good movie btw...
