Joe punge without question. bought up a ton of real estate when he got out some years ago at lower price's, and never slowed down. Lays low, possibly not even involved much, may just kick up to keep the peace. But there’s nobody that comes close as far as wealth. Someone said Merlino? Guy doesn’t even work, gets some money kicked up but cmon this isn’t the 80s. May be getting 15k a month or something, but he spends it immediately. I
Highly doubt he’s even in the top 10 as far as wealth in Thant family.

I mean he's a bonafide gangster and lcn to the bone with a strong legacy. But with no assets in his name and a wife that had to hold down a job when he was away. Is it out of line to call Merlino the most "brokester boss" of all time? Maybe some of the tiny families from back in the day

was he into drugs or loans or what?

Surprised the father pung was never shaken down actually I believe he did kick up to Natale I think I read. They probaly respected his sons went to jail and he took care of all of there interests

He died in 2010 or 2011 if I remember correctly. He barely did any time at all over the years.

I'm sure much of narducci's money is from his dad who, from what ive read, was huge shy and drug guy couldve left him a few mill.
i would think as a new yorker and a non mafia member that the only crew that makes much money (over a few hundered a year) would be North Jersey due to its work in conjunction w ny families. i just don't see the guys in s phillly have huge loansharking or gambling packages

if he does they don't mean much really. if he gets life or dies his family will never see a dime. Guys like Licata have built a vast empire of wealth in real estate and other assets much of which are now owned by family members who are pretty much set when he dies. Merlino is more of a live for today guy. Money doesn't last long in his pocket. I believe his wife held down a decent job all those yrs he was away. Narducci has a restaurant and does ok. But the guy was away his entire adult life. He lives a nice middleclass existence in south jersey. But he is not a multimillionaire like scoops.

Pungitore from the real estate and Narducci from the restaurant. Merlino spends money….maybe he has changed his ways in his old age and has learned to save some.

And he didn't get dragged into any trouble during the Stanfa period like other older guys like Sparacio, Piccolo(jail) or Bocchino(dead). Which is also impressive.

Correct - he took a small federal gambling pinch in the early 90s. Connected to Scarfo investigation but not RICO. Ralph was the only one to not be made and was able to stay out of jail and manage all their interests while everyone was in and out of jail…
