Idk if he is in Vinny’s crew or not but I’ve seen him post pics with jr and he is always wearing a “Free Vinny Basciano”shirt and it has a jail pic of him on it. That whole group of younger guys is definitely getting money.
What are they doing?
Not sure for certain but if I was to guess I’d say drugs specifically a lot of weed. Also I’d say scamming (credit card/fake checks) and I’m sure Plenty if other stuff. Now this is just my opinion none of this is fact I’m basing it on what I’ve seen on social media and a few mutual friends.

From what I understand, he was the last man standingn with any sort of position at the time and the only one crazy enough to want it.
Why did Vinny put a hit out on Mancuso from jail? Because Mancuso was trying to grab the family from him?

Anytime I see a pic of Basciano Jr he's got a full beard so I always assumed he wasn't made.

Basciano Jr was with Ernie Aiello in the 2010s, so I'd assume he hung around with Spirito as well
Yes I assumed that as well but have never heard of them together or seen any pics of them together and those younger Bronx guys love to post on the gram lol

There's some good info on the FBI Files section of this board coming out of the Crea, Madonna, et. al. case that gives all of these instances where various people in the Bronx from different families were working together...mostly on Pot. It came from the Zoccolillo info probably, but it showed that Basciano Jr. was around Aiello (and some Lucchese and Genovese guys) moving pot, going out to dinners, checking in with eachother, etc...

There could be a dozen of legit reasons as to why he wasn't mentioned, but Spirito Jr's name wasn't on any of that paperwork
Yes I specifically remember the info that you are talking about and just could never recall seeing their names together. Figured their in the same age range both from the Bronx was just wondering if they are friendly/ have any business dealing or if they have a beef of some sort.

I think I’ve also seen reports where it has been stated Mancuso was close to Vinny but in the recent Basciano thread it mentions how someone in the Bonnanos was complaining about Mancuso and Vinny told them to “do what you gotta do” and de facto approving a hit on him. Did these guys come up the ranks together?
They had a falling out when Mancuso was acting boss. Going off memory I think it had something to do with Cicale.
The way I remember it is that Mancuso immediately had tried calling Cicale in and starting asking him about everything he had going on, which seems like something somebody in a new leadership position would do, reasonably. I also remember Cicale saying he thought Mancuso was really harassing him and trying to get him to meet a lot and he thought he was going to get set up. I know at one point they were all one crew but it seems like even the Bronx crew was split in to mini factions at least with Basciano not getting along with DeFillippo, Mancuso, and Spirito

A big part of Mancuso's rise has involved members like Nicky Santora, Vinny Badalamenti, John Sciremammano, Tommy DiFiore, and John Palazzolo. For whatever reason Mancuso inspired hardcore loyalty from some of these guys from different crews in addition to his own Bronx faction.

Sal Montagna must have played a big role helping Mancuso maintain power 2006-2009. Cicale felt Mancuso and Montagna were scheming together against him (Cicale) when Mancuso was acting underboss and Montagna was acting captain of the DeFilippo crew. Santora told a CW in early 2007 that Mancuso (who was by then in prison) was still in power. From what John Pennisi recently said, Anthony Rabito may have been on Mancuso's side as well, so that acting admin of Montagna / Santora / Rabito must have been crucial for securing Mancuso's position (official or not) circa 2006-2009. I'd guess Joe Bosco continued in similar fashion but it seems at some point the Sicilians went over to Cammarano's side.

Remember too the Bonanno Bronx faction has been one of the most violent NYC mafia groups since 1999. They killed Sciascia and Seccafico, Basciano's guys committed other murders, one of the DeFilippo crew members went to war in Montreal, and there have been these various beatings. While violence in the mob isn't what it used to be, the old DeFilippo crew has shown a willingness to commit blatant violence even in the modern era.
