Yeah it seems it would have been short-term. Before he was consigliere there is a report that says Marangello was the senior / top capodecina helping run the Family, basically the street boss, so he was part of the leadership in different capacities for a while.

So would Marangello have only been consigliere for about six months then? In March 1974, Violi was recorded telling Rizzuto about how Rastelli was elected official boss, and that Marangello was underboss and Cannone the consigliere.

I've seen an FBI report from after Evola's death (he died late August 1973) that says Marangello had been elevated to consigliere and that the post had been open since DiFilippi died in 1972. The Violi tape about Alfano fits that timeline, that he held it while Evola was alive, but I wonder if it was official or acting. Giuseppe Buccellato was also reportedly acting consigliere during that window as well if I remember right.

Going back to this, I was re-reading my copy of The Sixth Family and it would appear Nick Alfano was consigliere for a brief time in the early 1970s. The following is a recorded conversation between Paolo Violi and Vic Cotroni that took place sometime between September 1972 and August 1973:

This meeting happened in the months after Alfano, Michael Zaffarano, Joseph Buccellato, and Nick Buttafuoco were sent to Montreal by Evola to attempt to mediate the dispute between Cotroni/ Violi and Nick Rizzuto.

Law enforcement had Spirito Jr listed as the Street Boss in early 2014. Of course we know now Spirito Sr has been the official underboss the past few years.

This was one of the most interesting topics, I was fascinated to read all the evolution of the Bonanno family. A doubt: In the Castellammare del Golfo timeline, I didn't understand very well why it is a "Bonanno family", I know that Joe Bonanno came from there, but I was a little confused, because it is a Bonanno family timeline.

The source is Bill Bonanno in his last book. And he specifacally says Dominick Sabella f I am not misremebering. Bonventre got demoted, Sabella took over his crew but sometime after that Bonventre was upped again and Sabella was given his own crew.

I don't think Parrino was actually the boss, Masseria backed him to take over but according to Bonanno "That tactic failed when we elected Maranzano as our leader".

Newspaper articles about the shooting of Italiano and Pasquale Dauria in October 1930, and Italiano's murder in 1935 noted that Frank Italiano was an alias, and eventually it was determined his real name was Sebastiano Mano. The police stated they were investigating Italiano/Mano for potentially entering the country illegally.

There is a record of a Sebastiano Manno who was close in age to Italiano, and was also born in Alcamo, entering the US in 1922. Possibly could be one and the same as Italiano.

Maybe Italiano was a consigliere from 1930, when alcamese Joe Parrino was a rappresentante

Ah, didn’t know that. That adds another layer to this already messy situation.

Also a longstanding rivalry in Sicily between Alcamo and CDG.

With the Castellammarese being so insular, could definitely be that he saw the other Trapanese as a threat. Even into the 1960s, they were still prominent in the family, and pretty interconnected.

Bonanno's first consigliere Frank Italiano was born in Alcamo, Trapani.

His death certificate lists his parents as Joseph and Anna, and his wife as Vincenza, living at 1365 75 St, Brooklyn.

This matches with a marriage record of a Frank Italiano, born in Alcamo to a Joseph and Anna, and a Vincenza Mule, also born in Alcamo. They were married June 1925, almost exactly ten years before he was murdered. It also looks like a John Bongiorno was a witness to the wedding, could be a connection the Castellammarese Bongiornos.

Oddly, in his petition for naturalization, submitted in October 1927, he says that he was single. He lists his date of birth as August 3rd, 1896, which is one day off from what his widowed wife Vincenza stated on her naturalization in the 1940s, August 2nd, 1896.

On his naturalization, he stated that he arrived in the US on March 6th, 1920 on the SS Canada. I haven't found a record of that, but haven't dug that deep yet.
