Wow this was phenomenal!

Abate’s family being from Vita and being related Onofrio Abate/Pizzolato family/Toto Minore is pretty huge.
There was an Abate family (also from Vita) in South Jersey; they had intermarried with Newark underboss Sam Monaco’s family. I had previously wondered if they were related to Onofrio but now Joe seems like a likely connection. Either ways it’s no longer a mystery as to why he wound up in NJ

It’s wild how rigid the Lucchese NJ crew was in terms of protocol. Both Abate & Pizzolato crashing out because Accetturo complemented him is especially crazy because he was already a top associate at that point. Another interesting aspect is that they don’t seem to have made anyone until the ‘70s

It makes sense that Abate and Charles Matranga would have been in contact. He was involved in the South Jersey area for a very long time. As for his BIL, who was supposed to be a front for Joe Bonanno, it would have been [i]Jack[/i] LoPiccolo rather than Joseph LoPiccolo.

Anyone know who the Arthur Frangello is in the frank rizzo post? Never seen that name before.

Surely DeFede has his dates mixed up?

The FBI bugged the visiting room in Terre Haute and used a tape recording between Amuso and DeFede in order to convince a judge to deny DeFede bail

One of their meetings lasted for 3 hours and apparently it is that meeting which they have on tape

So Zappola was shelved but was supposed to be the Acting Boss in 2017? I wonder how Amuso would agree with that. In another post, it was mentioned by Mike Spinelli and Joe Glasses that George Conte would be right back into the life after his release which indicates that they must have been taken off the shelf during the 1990s

There was a bit in there that said Georgie Neck and Georgie Goggles were on the shelf for a while, which is news to me.
