I believe they were with Detroit. At least that was the family they were closest to. At their peak I believe they had 40-45 made members. So they were one of the smaller families.

St Louis was most likely the 2nd Family in the US after New Orleans. 1870ish.

Yeah JCB, I grew up in St Louis. Anything in particular you are interested in?

Wiseguy...Thx for posting this. I have always tried to keep up with mob news, but for whatever reason, I never truly delved into St. Louis. Besides tracing Jack and Yonnie Licavoli back to St. Louis, I knew the names of the bosses but never really learned about them. This is a great topic since it hasn't been truly explored, at least not that I've seen. Hopefully this thread gets a few miles. Any St. Louis locals or mob buffs out there? Please chime in. Bobbybats probably has some good local insight being from Missouri. TonyG from St. Louis? Thx again Wiseguy, great stuff.

Thanks for posting. Nino was one of Vitale's guys, heavy into the unions until he was dismissed due to his LCN membership. Robert Sansone was President of IBT local 682 and the grandson of Jimmy Michael's at the time. The Feds took Sansone to court and removed him also, for not removing Nino. That was more of less the end of the St Louis LCN control of that union.

Pogo is correct, it has been reported that Frank Palazollo was made with Nando and Trupiano at the pizza restaurant in 1982.

I am pretty sure that Piscciotta died in 2012. Cammarata died last year.

People in St Louis, in particular on the Hill, say they are "still around". No one will tell me what that means. It may mean they show up and have a meal and play some bocce, it may mean they still run a book or shylock. The last thing I heard about any of them was that Nando was banned from Missouri casinos a few years ago and that Palazollo was arrested, but not charged, for fencing stolen jewelry about 10 years ago. I would be stunned if there is any formal structure left.

I think Vince Giordano may have died also but I cannot find an obit. Has anyone seen or heard anything about him?

I should add that Palazollo was supposidly made in 1982 in the same ceremony as Nondo Bartalotta.

Great find. I believe Frank Palazollo is indeed made but I don't know if he is still alive.

Thanks to Scalish for originally posting this. Looks like he died last month. Of the confirmed made guys left in St. Louis that Little Al listed years ago, that leaves only Fernando "Nondo" Bartolotta remaining. I think he must be close to 60 now. Other guys that could possibly have been made (but not for certain) include Vincent Cammarata, Frank Palazollo, Vincent Giordano, Giacomo "Jack" Parrino and Joseph Pisciotta.
