The D’Anna’s are a serious duo you would not want to mess with. They push a lot of drugs. While they themselves have gone semi legit with Construction companies and Restaurants, they run a pretty heavy crew of guys who are pretty violent. I’m sure they send them for their collections.

Most of these older guys are bookies and drug dealers.

That was my understanding. Zerilli's daughter was Joanna Baratta back in 2002.

The colombos have about 5 crews and about 80 made guys. Its so interesting that Detroit only has about 20 made guys but 4 crews. Its like the saying too many chiefs not enough indians.

Also are the actively trying to make new guys or have they gone the way of other families like new Orleans and st louis were they are just going to not grow anymore and eventually wither away?
It doesn't seem that odd to me. Once you get outside of New York and Chicago back in the day, family captains who have 3-4 soldiers each was pretty common. From 1984 to the 1990s the FBI was saying Detroit had six captains but only 23-29 or so members depending on the year. Philly after the major Scarfo busts to the present kind of seems like a lot of their captains have had 3-4 four soldiers. Specifically thinking of the North Jersey crew. Last time we got good information on Buffalo in the 90s was pretty similar. Even going back to LA in the sixties-seventies you came across that. I believe Angelo Polizzi's crew only had 3-4 made guys. And I think San Diego was like that too. And if you go with Kenji's numbers from the 90s they had three captains but only 10-15 members total. So not totally unusual. And when you get to Cleveland in the 70s- early 80s you start getting captains with like one or zero soldiers. The whole idea that a crew generally had 10 members or so I don't think really existed outside of New York by the 90s except maybe still in Chicago. Maybe New England.

You’re only half-right. These are good jokes.
If you’re 12. Maybe.

Hi Scott. Random question. Is Gene Baratta the same Gene Baratta that owns Fairway Packing in the Eastern Market? Baratta doesn't show up very often in articles/trials(never in trials) and I was trying to make sure it's the same guy.

Peter "Gotti" Tocco is a 46 year old Detroit mafia associate. His dad is Salvatore "Mops" Tocco, a former member of the Fat Jack Lucido Wolverine Golf Club crew. Gotti Tocco was Jackie's driver for a while. He's a drug guy (allegedly) and married to a Jewish girl from the westside whose grandpa was a Purple Ganger. I don't think there has been any making ceremonies in the last decade.

Is there any status known on the chair / consig emeritus? Is it still in existence?

Antiliar wrote: Sat Apr 16, 2022 11:52 am C'mon guys, I think he wants a real answer. Let's say there are 20 made members and the average weight is 200 pounds (US). That's a total of 4,000 pounds or 2 tons (1814.37 kg). So the weight of the Detroit Mafia is 2 tons.
200 lbs is very conservative for the Great Lakes region, so I think that’s a reasonable lower limit.
Yeah I was about to say, 200 pounds? Maybe in like 1970.
If the Motor City Amici shaved their Elvis sideburns and handlebar mustaches you could subtract another 100 lbs.
