I think it was a business disagreement between DeFeo and Dellacroce but I'd have to go back and see if it mentions the details.
The attempted hit on Neil seems to be in reference to post-Anastasia's murder -- that might have contributed to him "coming in" and making peace with the new regime along with Rava's murder. Sounds like DeFeo protected him and reached out. Anastasia saving his life would have been earlier but the way it's worded is confusing.

Not related to Dellacroce but since this thread also deals with Colombo guys I thought this was funny. Shows even associates in NYC can be confused by important non-Italians like McIntosh and assume the traditions are gone:
Might say more about it later, but I saw some reports that make me wonder if Joey Gallo cooperated with the FBI after he was released from prison. We know his brother Larry did. There was a source very close to Joey in the 1970s (Larry was dead) who was able to quote him verbatim throughout an FBI interview and explain Gallo's thoughts on everything, to the point where he either had to be one of his closest confidants or was Joey himself. Wouldn't be surprising as sources said Gallo told people he didn't want his "button" anymore and had no interest in being part of Cosa Nostra around that time. Could well have been one of his close associates too though -- the Gallo faction seems ripe for informants.
