Crea Sr will still have influence from prison and don’t forget he has a son who is a captain. Eventually Jr will be on the street again so believe me no one is going to blatantly disrespect Sr in that fashion. The Brooklyn guys probably already divvied up a good portion of Sr illegal businesses but the Crea’s are rich in property and have legit income I’m sure they’ll be fine.

He's never been identified as holding the position during that period, but appears to have served as a de facto acting boss

DiNapoli was sent to NJ state prison in Feb 2016 and didn't get out until a couple of weeks before the indictments in 2017. So Crea was the only administration member left on the street until DeSantis became acting boss in early 2017

That is true.It’s highly likely that Crea and Joseph DiNapoli who was the Consigliere at the time just continued on with running the family without Madonna

Even before news of meeting, I thought it was kind of strange that Madonna remained acting boss, seeing he was doing 5 years even before the murder indictments came down. Acting bosses are in almost all cases replaced by a new acting boss when they are doing time. I wonder why and what was going on with the Luchese in that time period.

Pete Gotti - as acting boss sent him a bill for $1800 in the can for a beef over his dead father - Fat Anthony. I think Crea if phucked and who ever is out in the street under the Luchese umbrella is taking over his company.
If nobody is sending him an envelope, I would assume that he has legit income going to his family

If Crea beat the case, he would have been the boss but also if Crea was to win his appeal, it’s most likely that he would continue on as Underboss now.They all respected Steven Crea, he was also the brains behind Matthew Madonna when he was the Acting Boss.

I just think its a hell of a letter to write out of the blue.
Coupled with the 'If you beat the case you replace Madonna." Was there an issue with Madonna? Why the change?
Is it because Zappola and Pagani were out? If so why are DeSantis and Delorusso front men?

I just feel theres context we're missing.
I also you need to look at the motive for Desantis sending the letter to Vic - he sent that angling for a bump to the admin (as well as the other old time Brooklyn guys). Vic is doing life and isn’t in the street so it’s a great way to leverage the situation and his longtime loyalty to Vic - whether the Bronx was/wasn’t planning anything.
