Don't forget the corporate journalists who lie about it, too. I'm sure we can find room for them.

TSNYC wrote: Thu Sep 16, 2021 3:27 am So the allegations are that they were extorting a union rep for part of his salary, and they were trying to get $10,000/month out of the union’s benefits fund? This seems like pretty small potatoes. For this many high level people to get involved in it seems a bit odd too. Wonder if maybe there’s more to the case and a second indictment comes down.
LCNs power structure especially in the Colombo family has taken a step decline as we all know. I am not really surprised to be honest with you…Every little bit counts and even bagmen can be RICO’d so they know ppl will not always be handing over the correct amount to the bosses if they have to engage in the enterprise which can land them years in prison just being the bagman on a RICO

In Philly it was Dom Grande bragging about how many 30s he could move and Mazzone talking about taking back AC. In this case, it seems like guys are talking tough about potential violence, but for an extortion scheme that seems to have lasted for 20 years, there appears to be basically zero violence.
My thoughts exactly. The threats though are enough for extortion, but aside from that, I think this may be a very weak case for some of them.
Everything is legal today , gambling , weed, high interest loans combined with no violence & most activities done behind legit biz must make it hard to be an OC Agent today.
I'm very interested to see what some of the evidence is from this case. There's no murder case involved here and we still have to see who else is the rat. I'm wondering if it's an associate in Florida with the arrest with Thomas Farese and his people.

And how about the luck on Vincent Ricciardo surviving 5 heart attacks and an assassination attempt. So I guess he has 3 lives to go.

As Pogo pointed out in the Colombo thread, the detention memo stated the 10k a month was just for the administration.

It turns out they weren't even getting that. They were trying to increase the payments to 10 grand a month but failed.

But try as they might, Russo and his underlings not only failed to increase their extortion payments to $10,000 a month, they lost whatever they had been getting and got indicted on racketeering charges that could cost them more than a few years behind bars.
