Who made Frank Salemme? I'm not sure if he can be considered to be a rat as he refused to testify against anyone in the Mafia but he did offer up information on Connolly, Flemmi and Whitey to the government.

Scott Burnstein in his article says that Salemme told Congress that he was made in Providence by Patriarca Jr and Nicky Bianco. While he quotes Flemmi's informant file where he says that Frank was made in Boston by Larry Baione and Angiulo. I have posted the link to the article below.

Nothing, but they should be demoted to soldier if they advanced past that by the time the rat is exposed. They should have to be demoted as punishment.

I mean the first thing that would happen to that sponsor would be jail time since he’s the person that the cooperator has the most info on.

I’m pretty sure they don’t. May like damage their reputation but I don’t see anything happening. Even in the heyday of the mob I don’t remember anyone getting killed for somebody they sponsored

Do anyone think that a made guy should still be recognized as such if one of his protégés switched sides and becomes a rat ? No repercussions at all is really hard to believe - I know that no gets clipped any more but you would think that they would be put on the shelf for inducting a rat.
