Is it? I didn't even look at the date...it came up in my feed. Thought it was interesting.

This doesn’t surprise me at all as South Philly is an extremely insular small community where everyone knows each other and/or is related to each other in some way or form.

You rat by giving Grand Jury testimony in that type of neighborhood and you’re going to hear it and feel very uncomfortable.

From what I have heard it’s just your run of the mill bookmakers and loan shark “victims” who gave GJ testimony when summoned about kicking up/borrowing which is pretty common place standard operating procedure in these types of RICOs besides of course as we all know shithead AP who went totally bad off the reservation by wearing a wire and bringing along an FBI undercover.

Recent court filings by federal prosecutors in the Racketeering Conspiracy and Drug case against Philly Mob Underboss Steven Mazzone and 13 others claims that attempts have been made to intimidate or threaten government witnesses in the case.

In one court filing, prosecutors stated “indeed the government is aware of several instances of threats being made against witnesses in this case.”

A judge last week refused prosecutors’ initial attempt for a court order to protect and limit access to their evidence and documents that might identify witnesses in the case at this time. The judge said the prosecutors request was too broad and suggested they might narrow their request and file another motion.

Prosecutors are expect to appeal the judge’s ruling.
