Jerry Scalise and Arthur Rachel used their real names when they rented the getaway car in London England before stealing the famous Marlborough Diamond.....
Joe Siciliano really fucked up with that horsemeat shit, though I’m not sure how much of the shitstorm was really due to his own ineptitude.
I dont think he was the only guy guilty for the screw up.
Im not sure if Siciliano was ever made but this guy controlled his own crew which included Meyer Ditlove, Russell Minnea, Anthony Rossi, Rudy Angelicchio, Robert Klotz, Frank Meara, Virgil McGanty and Joel Miller. Almost all of these guys were involved in the meat racket.
Now, it is also possible that Siciliano either answered to Paul Labriola or they were business partners. During that period Labriola already transferred or belonged to the EP crew and was possibly direct with Accardo which might mean that the line was Accardo-Labriola-Siciliano.
So, story goes that one of Sicilianos guys Joel Miller made some mistake and he had to go. I never found out what was Millers mistake, but instead all I know is that his dead body was pulled out from the Illinois River. Maybe Miller pushed the wrong people in the meat business or maybe went too far with his intimidating methods, and so the Outfit had to make an example out of him...just a guess.
All I know is that the biggest problem was when the goverment realized that Siciliano was in fact a mere tool for Accardo and Labriola, and Accardos problem was the mentioning of both Ricca and Campagna during the investigations. Both Ricca and Campagna were still under the feds radar at the time because of their early releases from the late 40s.
Years later or during the late 50s, according to one wiretapped convo, two unknown Outfit guys still trash talked Accardo for bringing Siciliano into the scheme and fuckin up the whole thing.
