'Duped' DEA boss says he wasn't told about Bongiovanni's relationship with Gerace
By Patrick LaKamp

Key witnesses: Dale Kasprzyk, former supervisor in DEA’s Buffalo office, and Thomas Herbst, a former FBI agent in Buffalo.

Pharaohs was raided in 2009. Triggered drug test of Gerace who was on probation from his earlier felony telemarketing conviction.

Quote: “If you as an agent have identified a suspect of a drug investigation, and that suspect is a friend, then you as an agent can’t work that investigation,” Kasprzyk said.

…Snip…

Kasprzyk, who led a group of about a dozen agents as a supervisor before becoming resident agent in charge in 2011, said he would not have permitted Bongiovanni to be involved in any case involving Gerace had he known Gerace and Bongiovanni went on double dates, vacationed together and went out to restaurants together.

Bongiovanni's retrial is now underway. New article:

Lawyer opens defense of accused ex-DEA agent: 'He didn't do the things the government says he did.'
by Patrick LaKamp

"Make no mistake, Mr. Bongiovanni took no bribes," MacKay said, suggesting that the retired agent's lifelong friends from North Buffalo who became marijuana traffickers instead tricked an Amherst drug trafficker into thinking he was getting protection for the $2,000 and then $4,000 monthly payments that they kept for themselves.

In addition to Judge Sinatra's father being:
1. Close friends and gambling buddies with Joe Todaro, Sr.
2. Gambling buddies with Fred Randaccio (per Scott Burnstein reporting)
3. Wife Camille being mob associate Leonard Mordino's sister (drug trafficking, wing murder)
4. Friends with Vic Sansanese, Joe Rosato, Frank Grisanti, Carol Catanzaro (Johnny Catz's sister), and Peter DiGiullio
5. Wedding at mob up Executive Inn Complex
It now appears he had a no-show job with the Buffalo Sanitation Department. See: https://buffalonews.newspapers.com/arti ... 152313510/
John Sinatra is listed as living on Auburn Ave in the article above. Additionally, this clipping below shows a boy was born to John L Sinatra of Auburn Ave in 1981. See: https://buffalonews.newspapers.com/arti ... 152313416/

Judge Sinatra's youngest brother, Developer Nick Sinatra, was born in 1981.

Additionally, Mark Campanella Jr. was a Vice President for Sinatra Co.

Just Pizza owner Rudy Alloy, Jr is friends with Todaros, Capitanos, Pieri, Masecchia, Bongiovanni, Mazzara and more on social media. I’ve had people tell me they think the Alloy’s are washing money for the Buffalo crime family.

Christina Campanella—Falzone is Mark Campanella Sr.'s daughter. She married Salvatore "Sam" Falzone who was one of Leonard Falzone's sons. Falzone was a mob captain who later served as consigliere and Front Boss to the Todaros according to Ron Fino. See: https://lombardofuneralhome.com/tribute ... tuary.html. I bring this up again because I believe what was written in the Topix forum after the Monty Masimmi murder is absolutely true:
Buffalo, NY is and always will be one of the most corrupt cities in America because there are too many people in high places who have family ties to drug trafficking, gambling, and murder, that goes back to at least 3 generations of Italian mobsters who's close knit relatives have managed to reach every position of power available in Buffalo: Mayor, Police Chief and District Attorney not to mention countless Judges. I'm not going to mention any names but this is going to have to be dismantled on a federal level. These people run the city with no fear of prosecution. Their nephews, uncles and cousins run around North Buffalo, Kenmore and the West Side of Buffalo dealing major cocaine and heroin, but they always seem to escape the yearly FBI round ups….

His next court appearance is this Friday, and it is once again a TBST (to be spoken to) per ontariocourtdates.ca.

I was able to confirm that Borrelli is on the docket by using his age as a search term. [snip]
There were no virtual proceedings in Borrelli's 9:00 am matter that day, July 12, 2024. Even one trial coordinator told me in the mid-afternoon that although it was on the 9:00 am docket in a particular virtual courtroom, the matter wasn't heard and could not be located with other details. At that point I had spent 4.5 hrs. on Zoom.

Borrelli's matter is no longer searchable in the database of court cases. Possible reasons: court case was completed; the matter "may be subject to access restrictions imposed by legislation or a court order restricting access"; the court case is no longer an active case, which simply means that a future court date has yet to be set (but a future date is usually entered within a day or two). I'm going to contact the courthouse for more information about the case.
Per the courthouse, the matter was completed on July 12, the day I was unable to virtually observe the proceedings. Borrelli pled guilty, received a suspended sentence with 12 months' probation, and was hit with a $100.00 victim fine surcharge. The courthouse can't provide me with the charge(s) -- it always suggests contacting the accused's lawyer to find out the charges.

Your instincts, [OcSleeper], again, are serving you well.

Iavarone's Information Sworn Date was Dec. 3, 2021.

He has a 10:00 am matter being heard tomorrow (Aug. 30) re: a trial continuation. I recently discovered when I went to a Toronto courtroom that hardly anyone is inside them, save the presiding justice, the clerks, the court reporters, and the odd Toronto Police Service officer. Almost all Ontario Court of Justice criminal matters throughout the province are being done via Zoom; so journalists themselves, e.g., Nicole O'Reilly, are following the matters virtually.

I have reason to believe she'll report on Iavarone's trial at some point. ;) ;)

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Tripi said in court Friday that information was uncovered that led to another investigation that caused a “conflict” for Soehnlein.

Tripi did not describe the new information or the conflict. But the judge told Tripi that Soehnlein and his ethics counsel, Brian Melber, should be provided information before Vilardo decides how to respond to the government motion.

“I want Mr. Soehnlein and Mr. Melber to have everything they need to know about the disqualification motion,” Vilardo said.

Vilardo called it a matter of fairness that prosecutors turn over “everything you are alleging against Mr. Soehnlein. Everything.”

….

For the rest of the article see: https://buffalonews.com/news/local/crim ... -top-story

Interesting that Soehnlein was a partner at Lippes Mathias since 2019 and an associate since 2013… but left in September to start his own firm.

Image

Remember Soehnlein Soehnlein was allowed to withdrawal from the case because of a conflict back in July. The reason for withdrawal was not in any publicly available court documents.

Soehnlien was then was allowed to rejoin the case in September.
Government willing to severe Bongiovanni from Gerace case if they go to trial by Feb. 8. Wonder if this means Soehnlein was removed? If so it will be interesting to see if anything comes from the impanelled grand jury that brought light to this alleged conflict.

Court finds no possibility Gerace’s lawyer committed crime in Judge Sinatra’s recusal

See: https://buffalonews.com/news/local/crim ... -top-story

This is the right ruling to protect a persons right to a robust defense.... It does however create some thorny issues, and Judge Vilardo recognizes this:

Image

Here is Judge Vilardo’s Ruling
https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap ... .889.0.pdf

This might be some relevant information: Buffalo Police Officers Christopher M Mordino cousin to Judge Sinatra and Michael A Mordino is Uncle to Judge Sinatra.

See: https://openoversight.com/officers/84313

See also: https://openoversight.com/officers/84314

Here is the other court document indicating Mordino is Sinatra's uncle: https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/63 ... es-v-hicks

See also: https://buffalonews.newspapers.com/arti ... 139607189/

This means Michael Mordino is brother to Camille “Mordino’ Sinatra - Judge Sinatra’s mother and brother to Leonard Mordino - Mob Associate convicted of in Wing murder and for drug trafficking. Camille, Leonard, and Michael’s father is Salvatore Immordino who is from Pittston, PA. I wonder if there is any relations to the Imordino's in the Utica area.

Don't forget Camille and John Sinatra Sr. had the who is who of future mobsters/mob associates involved with her wedding.

Image
In a newly unsealded and redacted court document we learn that Cohen, Peter Gerace's former lawyer, indicates the government is or was going to release video from Joe Todaro Sr.'s funeral. Cohen indicates that members Judge Sinatra's family attended (including the Judge's father and brother) and that the family provided a beautiful flower wreath. He. goes on to indicate that people from Gerace's family called Judge Sinatra's father Joe Todaro's best friend. The judge admitted his father was friend with Todaro, that the went to casino's together, even traveling to Atlantic City together. Cohen indicated he was going to bring up the fact that many good people business men and politicians were at Todaro's funeral including the Judge's family. Sam was part of the Torina Drug Ring (probably oversaw it). It was one of the largest mob connected cocaine rings busted in WNY. This ring worked closely with the Buffalo guyes Vegas and Luccheses in NYC. As part of this investigation not only were Naples and Torina's phones bugged, but also the coffee shop where they met on Grant Street and Falzone's union paid Cadilac. Feds were hoping it would lead to case against the Todaros and Falzone but that never materialized.
Dead though correct?
I know Alfonso Napoli died in 2000. He was a made man... He had sons Pasquale "Patti" and Salvatore "Sammy." I have not seen obituarires for them, so I don't think they are dead. If Sammy Naples is still alive, and I think he is, he is around 87 years old.
