The 24 year old man shot dead outside his home around 8:45 p.m. Friday evening on Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard in Rivière-des-Prairies, Claudio Marco Campellone, learned La Presse.
Two years ago almost to the day, Campellone was the victim of an attempted murder in one place, as he left his car. But this time, the young man was not so lucky. It was literally machine-gunned outside his home. Citizens who have heard several shots have 911. Campellone was taken to hospital where his death was confirmed.
In December 2011, Claudio Marco Campellone was arrested in dismantling, by the Organized Crime Division (COD) of the Montreal police, a drug trafficking network led by the brothers and Padula tied to the deceased chieftain the Mafia, Giuseppe De Vito, poisoned with cyanide Donnacona Penitentiary in summer 2013. Marco Campellone was subsequently sentenced to 12 months in prison for his involvement in the case.
In spring 2013, Claudio Marco Campellone was again observed by investigators of COD in the context of an investigation dubbed slang to another network and traffickers linked to the Mafia. However, he had not been arrested and charged.
When Campellone suffered a first murder attempt in late August 2013, he managed to go back to his car and go to a hospital located nearby for treatment. He had refused to cooperate with police. Sources had then told La Presse that the mobile was a possible dispute between traffickers territory, while the Rivière-des-Prairies area was very unstable, following the murder of Giuseppe De Vito made a few weeks earlier.
A new clan mafia, which have belonged Campellone now controls the Rivière-des-Prairies area.
Reportedly, street gang members in the entourage spawned networks targeted by the police in recent years in the sector, while Major Crime investigators from the Montreal police will not ignore any hypothesis to try to solve this 20 e murder of the year in their territory.
