Last time I saw Uncle Joe in person he was wearing a Jesters Hoodie. Like I said before it would be weirder if you were a man from South Philly and didn’t participate in a Mummers club.
Even in all the bars/taverns in South Philly you will see one of the Mummers Clubs flags hanging there. South Philly is seriously a very insular and unique community. It’s hard to describe unless you have spent some time there and know people from the neighborhood, I don’t think there’s another neighborhood around in the USA quite like South Philly. I dated a girl from South Philly and still have friends there, it was extremely unique to me at first and I’m from an Italian area in Jersey.
