Sammy on the other hand is a lot harder to read when it comes to that shit...like you can’t tell if he’s telling the exact truth, or he’s fully embellishing most of the stories to put himself in a more positive light..

The one thing I think he has always lied about, which casso also stated... was that Sammy was in some way involved in the drug business back in the day... I know casso is a straight lunatic, but why lie about that??? It was after Sammy already got his deal... and yeah, crime is crime, but at the same time you can’t never sell drugs in your life and then all the sudden run an enormously successful organized ecstasy ring.... that would be like a life time drug dealer who’s never placed a bet, or ever had a quarter sheet, and all the sudden he’s running a huge sports book.... it just doesn’t work like that...
That is another interesting subject, whether or not he was involved with drugs back then. He certainty hasn’t spoken about the xtc ring in Arizona.
That’s what I’m saying... it’s even more suspect that he avoids that topic like the plague... he’s never once spoken on the ecstasy ring/his drug days in witsec... makes me believe that he really did dabble in drugs before he flipped.. I mean he will talk about killing and killing but not about selling some pills...
they claim that was a big part in why they took cassos cooperation agreement away... cause they already had Sammy testify and say things one way.. then casso came in and supposedly was saying a lot of shit that contradicted Sammy.... so the fbi could not have that obviously... it would make them look so bad and basically ruin all the convictions and shit they got from Sammy testifying if another underboss/acting boss has conflicting testimony...
I don’t think Sammy sold the x but rather financed the bulk purchases and charged $1 per pill as the vig . His sons friends did the actual sales.

I recall Sammy also saying he wasn’t more careful on the phone as he wasn’t killing anyone and he believed as long as you weren’t leaving bodies , the heat would be minimal lol
Bottom line... however you word it... Sammy ran a very large and very lucrative drug ring.. it wasn’t as simple as him just funding the operation to get it going... they have wiretaps of him and his ex wife and shit straight discussing how the money was short on some deal, and I’m sure a ton of other shit.. but that I specifically remember hearing that wiretap of Sammy like interrogating his ex wife about the profits from a deal... I think the wife somehow collected the money and when she gave it to Sammy it was short... so he called to question her about it, you might be able to find it on YouTube....

And about the phones... they were using the old Nextel’s with the chirp like walkie talkie feature even though I don’t think they ever used the chirp feature (like it would have made a difference) but Sammy since he obviously dealt with the fbi and was in witsec, was familiar with agents... and he saw what cell phones the agents were using and somehow thought since the fbi uses those cell phones, that they couldn’t tap them... some insanely retarded thinking...

Don’t know how true cause it was before my time, but there was always this rumor that the chirp feature on the Nextel’s were basically safe to communicate on/ weren’t able to be tapped.. honestly it’s like a old rumors.... I just remember my dad had one way before I even had a cellphone cause they used them a lot in construction... they were like all heavy duty with like rubber around them. I actually still have 2 of them in my garage..

He actually told the judge in Arizona that, compared to his past crimes, overseeing an ecstasy ring wasn't that bad. Basically trying to use that as a defense.

As for the podcast my favorite part was George Gabriel. After he arrested him Gotti was acting very arrogant in the car until Gabriel said “You know you really shouldn’t have talked so much in Nrs Cirelli’s apartment”. Gotti immediately shut up 😂
Not to mention Gravano saying in his book how they knew the West Side had been plotting the murder of both John and Gene Gotti after the FBI showed up at Gotti's door to warn him. Plenty of reason to retaliate but it seems it never got past the talking stage.

On a side note, this is a perfect example of what a snake Casso was. Tells Gotti he's just peachy with them taking out Paul. Then turns around and helps Chin go after the Gambinos for killing Paul. LOL.

If Gotti had hit Chin, to quote JSack, the Westside would’ve rained down a shit storm on the Gambinos the likes you’ve never seen. Suicide mission.
Didn’t the Gambinos have more shooters than the westside? Correct me if I’m wrong.
No interest in debating a theoretical 80’s Westside vs Gambino war scenario but to hit Chin IMO, would’ve been suicide.

Yeah I remember reading there was some consideration about hitting Chin, Mario and Baldy Dom.

I do vaguely recall reading about them wanting to whack Gigante and then backing Allie Malangone to replace him. Obviously it never got off the ground.
